Event Video Production

Event video production is how your conference, awards night or launch keeps working after the room empties: a highlight reel by the next morning if you need it, the talks filmed in full, and short clips to sell next year’s event. We’re a Midlands crew, and we film events across the UK.

CIPP ACE 2026 — the intro film for the payroll body’s Annual Conference and Exhibition

Most of the people who care about your event will never be in the room. The film is how they see it. We’ve been the corporate event videographer for the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals at the Hilton Birmingham, Symphony Hall and Sky Garden in London, and we filmed TEDx Leamington Spa from 2016 to 2019. This is how we’d go about yours.

What you get from one event

One day of filming should give you more than one film. For a typical conference we deliver:

  • A highlight reel by the next morning, while people are still talking about the day.
  • A 2 to 3 minute promotional film to sell next year’s event.
  • The talks, filmed in full for anyone who missed them.
  • Interviews to camera with speakers, sponsors and guests.
  • Short clips for social, cut so they can be reposted without going stale (see our social media video production work).

For an exhibition we’ve also made an hour-long loop to run on the stand.

Highlights by the next morning

A highlight reel is worth most while the event is still news. At CIPP’s Payroll Live North in Manchester on 9 July 2025, we planned the edit to land within 24 hours. The highlight reel reached the client at 09:28 the next morning. A colour tweak went back at 11:05, and it was on their YouTube channel that morning. Every to-camera interview was with them by 11:42 the same day.

For their annual conference we’ve turned round a 60-second edit by the next day. See the CIPP case study.

Conference filming, awards, graduations and launches

Conference filming is most of what we do for events, but it isn’t all of it. We’ve filmed:

  • Conferences: two days at the Hilton Birmingham for CIPP’s annual conference.
  • Award nights: CIPP’s awards, alongside their conference.
  • Graduations: CIPP’s ceremony at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
  • Launches: National Payroll Week at Sky Garden, London, in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
  • Talks: every TEDx Leamington Spa talk from 2016 to 2019, including the 2018 event at The Assembly.

Talks that outlive the room

We filmed Roger Frampton’s talk at TEDx Leamington Spa in 2016. On the TEDx Talks YouTube channel, Why Sitting Down Destroys You has now been watched 4,923,189 times.

So film the talks properly, as well as the highlights. A good talk can go on finding an audience for years. More on our TEDx work.

How the day runs

Live event video production has one rule: nothing happens twice. So the work starts before the day.

  1. Before. We ask what the film is for, who will watch it, which moments matter and whether you need interviews. The answers decide how many of us come, what kit we bring and how we cut it.
  2. On the day. We cover the moments you can plan, like the keynote or the award, and keep a camera free for the ones you can’t. Everything is shot in 4K.
  3. Interviews. We ask people the questions, then let them chat the topic over. On CIPP’s case-study films the chatty answers sounded less robotic, so those are the ones we used.
  4. After. The highlight reel goes first, then the longer films, then the clips.

Films made for the screen in the room

Some of the films an event needs are shown at it: openers, walk-ins, award stings. They have to be made for the screen they play on.

For CIPP’s 40th conference, the opener played on a 3840 by 886 pixel stage screen. Archive photos would have looked poor at that size, so we upscaled them with an AI tool. When the interviews looked over-cropped, we moved the frame closer to standard widescreen. Two alternative cuts went over at 06:31 the next morning, and we took the edit to the venue on a laptop in case anything needed changing at the last minute.

A conference screen also needs slower transitions than a phone does. A split screen that looks fine on a laptop can look messy on a stage screen.

One event videographer, or a crew?

If your event happens in one room, one event videographer can cover it. That stops being true when you want people filmed in different places on the same day. On one job, relighting each location took one person 40 to 60 minutes, and a second person more than halved that. We’ll tell you which you need, and why, before you book.

We’ll also look for the cheaper way of doing it. One brief we quoted at four filming days could be done in as little as two. When a client wanted extra interviews in London, we filmed them on the afternoon of an evening event we were already booked for, rather than making a second trip.

What it costs

We don’t have a standard day rate, because no two events are the same. A quote is built from how many days we’re on site, how many people we need, any specialist kit, how many films you want and how fast you need them.

Send us the date, the venue and what the film is for, and we’ll price it properly. For how video budgets work in general, read what a corporate video costs.

The same crew, year after year

We’ve filmed for CIPP every year since before 2019: their conference and awards, their graduation and the National Payroll Week launch. A crew that came last year already knows the venue and the running order, and has met the people. The day runs smoother, and the films look like they belong together.

“Green Gorilla have been an absolute pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with them many more times in the future. Tim and his team are professional, friendly, and accommodating to ideas. The videos they have produced were exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend.”

Questions we get asked

How much does an event videographer cost?

It depends on days on site, crew size, kit and how many films you need, so we price each event from the brief rather than from a day rate. Tell us the date and what the film is for, and we’ll come back with a figure.

How quickly will we get the video?

We can plan the highlight reel for the next morning. For CIPP in Manchester it reached them at 09:28 the day after. The longer films and the full talks follow.

Do you only film events in the Midlands?

No. We’re based in Nuneaton and film across the UK. Recent events include Manchester and Sky Garden in London.

Can you film the full talks as well as a highlight reel?

Yes. We film every talk in full and cut the highlights from the same footage.

What event filming services do you offer besides the filming?

Openers and films to play on the screen at the event, interviews, short social clips and a promo for next year’s event. The same team does all of it.

Let’s talk it through

Send us the date, the venue and what the film has to do. We’ll tell you honestly what it takes, including when one videographer will do and when you need two. No hard sell, and a real person on the other end.
