Lestercast Promotional Film

The Client

Lestercast is an investment-casting foundry in Leicester, off Ireton Avenue in LE4. They have been casting for over fifty years, they are ISO-certified, and they supply precision components to manufacturers around the world.

The Brief

A foundry is a hard thing to explain on paper. Lestercast had the certifications, the track record and the technical spec sheets, but nothing that showed a prospective customer what actually happens when they pour metal.

They wanted a film that did two jobs: a longer promotional piece to introduce the company, and a shorter, focused film explaining their rapid-prototyping service.

The Approach

Molten metal is a gift on camera, so we spent time on the floor of the foundry with the people who run it, filming the process rather than staging it. The result is a promotional film that carries the scale and heat of the place, tied together with the brand.

The second film is a different job. Where the promo sells the company, this one explains a single service: how Lestercast uses rapid prototyping to move from an idea to a cast part.

The Outcome

Two films from one shoot: a promotional film that introduces the whole company, and a short service film that can stand on its own. It is the kind of work that reads far better on screen than a page of technical copy ever could.
