Video Production Company in Leicester

We’re a video production company twenty miles from Leicester, and we’ve made films for Leicester businesses. Here’s one of them.

Lestercast — the promotional film we made for the Leicester investment-casting foundry

The work: a promo film for Lestercast

Lestercast is an investment-casting foundry in Leicester, off Ireton Avenue in LE4. They’ve been pouring metal for over fifty years, they’re ISO-certified, and they supply precision components to manufacturers around the world. What they didn’t have was a film that showed any of it.

We made their promotional video: the foundry, the process, the people who run it. Molten metal is a gift on camera, and a 50-year-old Leicester manufacturer turned out to be exactly the kind of story a website full of technical spec sheets can’t tell on its own.

We also made them a second, shorter film about their rapid-prototyping service. Same client, a different job: the promo sells the company, this one explains one thing it does. Both are on the Lestercast case study.

That’s the useful thing to know about us before you read another word. We don’t have a Leicester postcode. We have Leicester work.

Where we actually are, and why it saves you money

We’re in Nuneaton, about twenty miles from Leicester, half an hour up the M69. Close enough for a recce, a shoot day, or a coffee to talk it through, without the surcharge that comes with a city-centre address.

That distance matters more than it sounds. A production company’s rent is in your quote whether anyone mentions it or not. Ours isn’t a Leicester or a London rent, so the same crew, the same cameras and the same edit cost you less. You’re paying for the film, not the postcode above the door.

And we travel anyway. The Selco idents we made ran on Sky Sports, the NHS films ran across the country, and Leicester is closer to us than most of the places we film.

What we make for Leicester businesses

  • Brand and promotional films. The Lestercast job is the type: one film that explains what a company does far better than a page of copy. Manufacturers especially tend to have a great story sitting unfilmed on the factory floor.
  • Corporate and internal films. Training, recruitment, company updates, the customer story someone credible tells on your behalf.
  • Social media films. Short, built for a feed, cut into the versions each platform actually wants.
  • Event films. A record of the day, and something to promote next year with.

Most companies need two or three of these rather than one, and it’s usually cheaper to shoot them together.

Why a nearby company beats a cheap one

Leicester has no shortage of people who will point a camera at your business. The gap is usually not the filming. It’s whether anyone worked out what the film is for before the shoot day.

We start with the job the film has to do, who it’s talking to, and what you want them to do next. Then we build to that. It’s the difference between footage and a film that earns its place in your marketing, and it’s the reason the Lestercast promo works: it was built to do a job, not to fill a slot on a homepage.

Frequently asked questions

Is Green Gorilla actually based in Leicester?

No. We’re in Nuneaton, about twenty miles from Leicester, half an hour up the M69. We work across Leicester and film nationally. We made the promotional film for Lestercast, an investment-casting foundry in the LE4 part of the city.

How much does a video cost in Leicester?

It depends on shoot days, crew size, talent, locations, kit and post-production. We don’t publish a price list, because the same film can cost very different amounts depending on those things. Being twenty miles outside a city centre keeps our overheads, and your quote, lower than a Leicester or London studio’s.

How long does a video take to make?

A straightforward one-day shoot is usually a few weeks from brief to delivery, and most of that is pre-production and editing rather than filming. Bigger jobs with casting or several locations take longer. We give you a schedule before we start.

Do you charge extra to travel to Leicester?

No. Leicester is twenty miles away, closer than most of the places we film. The Selco idents we made ran on Sky Sports and the NHS films ran across the country, so a half-hour drive up the M69 is not a problem.
