The work: a promo film for Lestercast

Lestercast is an investment-casting foundry in Leicester, off Ireton Avenue in LE4. They’ve been pouring metal for over fifty years, they’re ISO-certified, and they supply precision components to manufacturers around the world. What they didn’t have was a film that showed any of it.

We made their promotional video: the foundry, the process, the people who run it. Molten metal is a gift on camera, and a 50-year-old Leicester manufacturer turned out to be exactly the kind of story a website full of technical spec sheets can’t tell on its own.

We also made them a second, shorter film about their rapid-prototyping service. Same client, a different job: the promo sells the company, this one explains one thing it does. Both are on the Lestercast case study.

That’s the useful thing to know about us before you read another word. We don’t have a Leicester postcode. We have Leicester work.

Where we actually are, and why it saves you money

We’re in Nuneaton, about twenty miles from Leicester, half an hour up the M69. Close enough for a recce, a shoot day, or a coffee to talk it through, without the surcharge that comes with a city-centre address.

That distance matters more than it sounds. A production company’s rent is in your quote whether anyone mentions it or not. Ours isn’t a Leicester or a London rent, so the same crew, the same cameras and the same edit cost you less. You’re paying for the film, not the postcode above the door.

And we travel anyway. The Selco idents we made ran on Sky Sports, the NHS films ran across the country, and Leicester is closer to us than most of the places we film.
